Winter Solstice // A Time Of Giving Death

When you are young, and proud and blinded by the certainty that only youth affords, those who are older, who are wizened, who have been thoroughly humbled by the total unpredictability of life--they will be content to smile kindly, saying little of your plans, instead quietly laying their head to rest upon the lap of a friend, taking great pleasure in the sensation of the rough grass and moist soil yielding to against the pressure of bare toes, their face alight with a wry and distant smile that speaks of many many dreams both loved and lost.
